Pitch

For my inspiration for my pitch, I also didn’t the include the montage sequence from The Lunchbox (Directed by Ritesh Batra), where it shows a tiffin lunchbox being carried from the home to the office worker in his office by lunchtime, carried out by a delivery service by “dabbalwalas” in Mumbai. The reason I couldn’t add it was because I couldn’t find the video online for this sequence at the beginning of the film, what I love about it was the transition of the lunchbox’s journey carried by the dabbalwallas, this gives the opening credits such an interesting and creative silent story, and made me have this a source of inspiration for my project.

*Update*

Because it wasn’t possible to film at my possible locations due to the pandemic, my project had been improvised and changed, instead the coffee story would be filmed from home during isolation. My inspirations and first initial ideas were all the same however.

Filming The Pitch

On the day we did our pitches, we had an exciting class in which we learned different roles in filming a scene, each person had a go at being, director, marker, cameraman, sound specialist all whilst recording the person delivering their pitch presentation. The people responsible for sound used a Zoom H4N Pro Recorder, as we wanted a clear sound for the footage we’re filming. Since I did not have this device to use for my personal project, this was a great opportunity to experiment with this type of device in filming and editing audio. We also had a logging sheet that could find the audio file that was used on the scene we recorded.

Editing On Adobe Premier Pro

We then learned how to match the sound between the audio and clips from the presentation, from this example this shows Sophie delivering her speech, the mark clap on the audio indicates where the sound begins in the audio clip, once we found them, we matched it to the video’s sound and therefore synched the sound and video, allowing us to cut the video’s sound off, therefore giving us a crisper clear sound.

With audio file over.
Without audio file and with videos audio.
