Primary Posters Research
To Begin my look for inspiration, I went out to my local area and took photos of any posters I could find and found a variety of them as inspiration. My favourites were the unfinished business (women’s rights), The Crown series advert and sleeping pills poster adverts.
I looked at my books and their covers as well for ideas, I wanted to find something decorative and ideal for the friendship gentle like themes wanted to do for my poster similar to thank you cards and feminine stationary, keeping in mind to keep soft muted colours to get an idea, The Illustration School book cover by Sachiko Umato was a big inspiration in this case.
Secondary Research (Online)
I looked at the Rifle Paper and Co works with typography and calligraphy to also get an idea for my inspirations for this poster as well, combining decorative floral art to complement the font.
Illustrator VS InDesign Live Class
In this class we learned a bit about Typography rules and various Typface’s (such as the difference between Seriff and Sans). And also an insight on InDesign and how to work with bleed and borders when creating a poster, we were also advised to look at LinkedLearning as a learning resource for both InDesign and Illustrator in making our Typography. I’m thinking to try this for one of my posters as a learning experience.
